About MetisTools
MetisTools provides free online video player tools for people who need to test public or authorized video links in a browser. The first tools support M3U8/HLS playlists, direct MP4 video URLs and MPEG-DASH MPD manifests.
The site is designed for practical playback checks: paste a link, preview playback, review browser-side events in the Playback Log and read notes about common loading issues such as CORS restrictions, unsupported codecs, expired links, missing segments, MIME type problems or DRM requirements.
What We Provide
MetisTools focuses on browser-based playback testing, not downloading or converting video. The tools help you check whether a video link can be loaded by a modern browser and whether common browser-side issues are visible during playback.
The project is maintained by Dennis Fan and is available on GitHub for transparency, issue review and implementation history: https://github.com/flbdennis/player-tools .
Responsible Testing Boundary
Only test video links you own, manage or are authorized to access. MetisTools does not bypass CORS, DRM, login walls, signed token rules, geo restrictions, copyright restrictions or source website permissions.
Privacy and Diagnostics
The tools do not require accounts. Video URLs are used inside your browser session for playback testing. Do not paste confidential, private or unauthorized links. For details about analytics, advertising cookies and optional error monitoring, review our Privacy Policy.
